Universal Truth - our story
Universal Truth works to end forced marriage, honour-based abuse, and gender-based violence.
As a survivor-led social enterprise (CIC), we help women rebuild their lives, provide professional training, and influence policy and legislation to create lasting change.
Founder and leadership
Nyla Khan, lived experience leader and Gender Justice activist, founded and leads Universal Truth. Her experience shapes everything we do, from survivor support programmes and professional training to advocacy campaigns.
Governance
Our board and advisors come from the communities we serve, ensuring Universal Truth stays authentic, accountable, and survivor-led while tackling systemic inequality and supporting BAME women.
Our work
Helping women and changing systems
Survivor-led programmes: supporting women affected by forced marriage, honour-based abuse, and gender-based violence to regain independence and confidence.
Professional training: equipping frontline workers and institutions to overcome racial anxiety, respond safely, and tackle complex challenges in the workplace and community.
Policy advocacy: influencing UK, European, and international policy, holding institutions accountable, and driving gender justice reform.
Mental health justice: driving initiatives to prevent crises, reduce stigma, and improve systems across the UK and internationally
Events: hosting and curating high-profile events and roundtables to raise awareness, share expertise, and drive systemic change in gender-based violence and forced marriage.
